I could try to hide away Start again, forget your name I know I can fool myself again I’m over it, I’m over you I don’t want to anymore I don’t need to anymore I could live the same old lie I tell myself everytime I know I can fool myself again I’m over it, I’m over you I don’t want to anymore I don’t need to anymore Oh all the places I could go All the silly things I do It only leads me back to you I could try to hide away Start again, forget your name I know I can fool myself again I’m over it, I’m over you I don’t want to anymore I don’t need to anymore Oh all the places I could go All the silly things I do It only leads me back to you

This One 02:40
It might as well be love Though it’s not as clear as day I’m not giving up on this one It might as well be love Oh it’s still too soon to say I’m not giving up on this one Whatever keeps me hanging on I’m not letting go Tell me Will you be around for this one If I gave my heart will You give me yours and stay Tell me will you love me I’m taking a chance on this one I’m not letting go of this one ‘cause this one might just last This and nothing else I swear I won’t back out Oh I’m holding on to this one This and nothing else If ever, why not now Oh I’m holding on to this one Whatever keeps me hanging on I’m not letting go Tell me Will you be around for this one If I gave my heart will You give me yours and stay Tell me will you love me I’m taking a chance on this one I’m not letting go of this one ‘cause this one might just last

Script 02:24
Now if I pretend I’m enjoying myself She’ll won’t cause a scene It’s this thing we do See who breaks down first It’s usually me It’s in the script A character play No one gets hurt This way He bites his tongue As I weigh every word Each one at a time It’s a game we play See who gives in first And crosses a line It’s in the script A character play No one gets hurt This way And there’s no need to improvise We could do this in our sleep It’s second nature by now It’s been rehearsed so many times We play it perfectly Untill the curtains come down

I feel like a fraud oh I Keep losing track of time And time is running out Used up the luck I got Guess what the jig is up oh It’s a long way down I found a light A light I’ve never seen before What do you do with a love like that Where do you go with a heart like that What do you do with a love like that Where do you go with a heart like that A heart like that I was a ghost you know I shook off all my bones Buried them deep into the ground I feel like a fraud oh I Keep losing track of time And time is running out I found a light A light I’ve never seen before What do you do with a love like that Where do you go with a heart like that What do you do with a love like that Where do you go with a heart like that A heart like that

Well Hid 02:58
Seems like we’ve wasted All this precious time It slipped out of our hands Carelessly scattered Torn and left behind But I can’t remember when But we don’t really talk about that Doesn’t even come up anymore And I know That’s our worst mistake We don’t really talk about that Doesn’t even come up anymore And I know That’s our worst mistake We got distracted Let all those hours pass ‘till they slowly disappeared We took it for granted Like it would always last Never thought we’d end up here But we don’t really talk about that Doesn’t even come up anymore And I know That’s our worst mistake We don’t really talk about that Doesn’t even come up anymore And I know That’s our worst mistake What good would it do now Let’s keep it in the ground And well hid Seems like we’ve wasted All this precious time It slipped out of our hands
7.
Dean 03:27
Look at us all grown up now In every passing cloud We found a silver lining Oh each dream we chased Led us to a home And if I had another go Oh I know I’d take your hand And dive back in again Let go of all those things we never did Just close your eyes and live your life It’s not the movies Oh each dream we chased Led us to our home And if I had another go Oh I know I’d take your hand And dive back in again Remember reaching for the same stars Wishing they would come down One by one they started tumbling Look at us all grown up now
8.
Lorelei 02:23
In this world I’m sure we can find Some peace of mind A safe haven Take my hand and hold on real tight Before anymore time Goes by wasted Raindrops And dark clouds Won’t hurt us Let’s get out In this world I’m sure we can find Some peace of mind A safe haven
9.
On The Spot 05:12
Let’s go anywhere but here Away from who we were Away from what we did Let’s go anywhere but here There’s a road ahead We haven’t walked on yet We don’t know anything about love We make it up right on the spot We don’t know anything about love We make it up right on the spot Let’s just leave it all behind Before the lights come up Before the end of night Let’s just leave it all behind There’s a road ahead We haven’t walked on yet We don’t know anything about love We make it up right on the spot We don’t know anything about love We make it up right on the spot
10.
I know A place where we can go Safe between the sheets Where time stands still Where the moon Leaves an afterglow On a world fast asleep Where dreams are fulfilled I’ll tell you all my secrets there I’ll tell you all my secrets there Someplace The sun has long gone Big enough for two Where we can hide Stars will watch Over us ‘till dawn I’m right beside you All through the night I’ll tell you all my secrets there I’ll tell you all my secrets there Don’t worry We’ll set it but let it snooze Endlessly Not quite awake But not asleep I know A place where we can go Safe between the sheets Where time stands still I’ll tell you all my secrets there I’ll tell you all my secrets there

about

With the release of «This One» and «Love Like That» Sonar Kollektiv fueled the expectations for the album by Roos Jonker and Dean Tippet heavily. Now it’s finally here and it probably will sweeten our lives beyond the coming summer months.

Roos Jonker and Dean Tippet, the two singer-songwriters from Amsterdam have been making music together since 2009 – initially as members of «We’ll Make It Right», the six-piece supergroup around Benny Sings, but as solo artists as well. Roos Jonker attracted already in 2010 quite some attention with her self-produced debut album «Mmmmm». Her charming mix of modern jazz, folk and carefree poppy vocals went down well with the public as much as with critics around the globe.

After a Japan tour in 2011 with «We’ll Make It Right» Jonker and Tippet decided to record together a duet album and started to cut some early tracks already in 2012, but soon were distracted by circumstances of life, kids, mat- ters of love and books.

Only six years later, when producer Eelco Topper (aka Felbm aka Falco Benz) joined in, the album at hand, «Roos Jonker & Dean Tippet», slowly but surely took shape.

«All The Places I Could Go» is the appropriate start of this good natured summer joy ride. The song’s minimalistic, pointedly orchestration is present all over the album and supports the tantalizing, well-paired voices of Jonker and Tippet perfectly.

All of the ten songs at hand show a subliminal optimism without drifting off into sob-stuff. To the contrary, «Roos Jonker & Dean Tippet» is an album with an easy acces- sible thoughtfulness turning out to be quite contagious. «Script» or «Lorelei» are perfect examples of how a song can sound somehow sad, but still can resonate with lots of delight and hope. At the end – at the very latest with «A World Asleep» – all of this whet one’s appetite for more songs in this vein.

Songs that can ease the pain and shed some light in darker days. Songs you just can’t get enough of.
